Riding Bike to BRHS

I made it to Baton Rouge High just as everyone else was arriving.

    Janet, a lovely tour!

Back in the 60’s school was 4 miles away along the main road between London & Edinburgh for me, but we cycled it regularly, mostly taking the long way home via some unexplored roads & tracks.

My kids were blessed with being brought up in a “new town”, Cramlington, planned in the late 60’s & with dedicated off road cycle paths linking all the different areas of town, so they cycled to school quite safely on their bikes. As the years rolled by and land became more expensive the developers made the cycle paths narrower with each subsequent development, but they are still there!
