I found your site through your photo on SFGate article about bikes and their owners. I love the info and fun stories on your site. I’m in the process of getting a new bike (sold my old 3 speed beach cruiser) and want to get something better for my needs for hauling stuff around town for my petite height. Love your red bike!

Well, I bought a cream Public M8i today and rode it home in the rain :). The bike shop happened to have the exact model, color and size that I wanted in the shop and it already had the rear rack installed. I was happy with the test ride so I took the plunge. Nice shop–The Mindful Bike in Denver.

Thanks, Virginia. I think my Public M8 is my most versatile bike. It’s lighter and faster than my red Dutch bike (Viva Juliett) but is upright enough to be and easy “hop on and go” bike.

I can’t believe the movers would try to pass off a random wheel as yours, especially a back wheel.

I love your blog. Just discovered it while researching for a new bike. Strongly considering a Public M8. I’ve been car-free for over 20 years, but recently moved from Santa Barbara to Denver and my biking needs are different now. Not to mention that the movers apparently destroyed my back wheel and replaced it with a random back wheel, thinking I wouldn’t notice, I guess. I’ve always said I wanted a bike wardrobe (my Gary Fisher mountain bike, plus an ExtraCycle, plus a city bike….). Keep up the good work!
