What can I say, I have a thing for lugged bikes with distinctive head badges. Click the thumbnails for high res photos. To fully appreciate these babies, you need to get in close.

National Handmade Bike Show 2011

Handmade with pride by master craftsmen, with details that make the difference. Dick and I traveled all the way to Austin to check out bikes built by master craftsmen at the NAHBS.

We ogled and gawked and I did my best to capture their beauty with my trusty iPhone 4. Take a look below. If you like what you see, get an even closer look at a gallery of nice lugs from this show.

Fix The Toaster

Nearly 32,000 Americans die in car crashes annually. 80% of car crashes are PREVENTABLE. If the TOASTER was killing that many people we'd think it was ridiculous. We'd un-plug it and say, let's Fix The Toaster.
