Fashion Friday: Vintage Touches for a Party Dress

08 Dec

When you come home empty handed after shopping for a new party dress, it’s time to get creative from your closet. This 8-year-old little black dress gets accessorized for a completely new look with a paisley shawl from my sister, a flea-market-find vintage pin, and a satin car coat, lace stockings and shoes straight from my closet. Add a new inexpensive necklace and I’m ready for Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition holiday party.

Little Black Dress & Shawl
This dress is so versatile. See how accessories make the difference here and here and here.

About Fashion Friday: Inspired by a 2011 Bike to Work Day challenge sponsored by the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, this series highlights the broad range of “dress for the destination” bicycling fashions.

Lovely! The jacket, gloves, necklace, tights, shoes – all come together so nicely. Oh, and the bike. :) This is why the LBD is such a classic and it’s great to see how different women bring their own style to it.
