Bike Commute Diaries: Keep On Keeping On

11 Aug

It’s Monday and I’m off to an earlier-than-usual start to a busier-than-usual week for me: product deadlines at work, advocacy meetings after work, a ladies tea to prepare for, and writing projects to complete. Sometimes you need a little inspiration to soldier on and push through. Then it appears, right there on the trail before you.

About the Bike Commute Diaries: Launched in May 2012 for National Bike Month, this series explores the daily experiences and unexpected things I’ve seen and learned while bicycling for transportation.

What a nice inspirational message on a Monday morning. It was a perfect pick me up from the not so good morning I’ve been having. I’m using it to change the course of my day!

While on a ride yesterday, I was charmed and delighted to see a love letter and marriage proposal chalked onto the pavement, in short phrases, over about 1/2 mile of roadway. Perhaps for a runner, but I like to imagine it was from one cyclist to his love. I hope it worked!

Wow, how sweet. Please tell me you took a few photos!

I think the chalk message on the Guadalupe River Trail was probably for a group of runners or walkers over the weekend. But I’ll take it.
